Project’s methodology:
The whole project methodology is being built around the non-formal education principles and methods. Thus, defining non-formal education as the frame that offers the participants the opportunity to learn what they want, when they want and how they want is an essential dimension of Dice 2 prejudice. The project’s methodology is based on the Council of Europe publications in the field of human rights education – Compass, Compasito, Education Pack, Companion, and Dominion. Choosing to work on discrimination and intolerance the main approach we had been integrating as methodology is the human rights education. The main educational approach that will be used within the Dice 2 prejudice will be the human rights education – ‘aiming to establish a culture of human rights’ (Compasito) As human rights education is essential to democratic citizenship and to citizenship education, we do believe that by the activities we are proposing, the youngsters will get to reflect upon the situation of the groups who are normally discriminated During the activities, other educational perspectives will be integrated: participation, the experiential learning; the Co-operative learning and the facilitation. As for the event in the main square, we will be providing the participants with the methodology and with a short test session on forum theatre - based on the Theatre of the Oppressed, founded by Augusto Boal. The theatre of the oppressed is a form of theatre that encourages the audience to be an active participant in the drama and it stimulates because it stimulates people to think and act, rather than simply receive a message, become an automaton and do things because that's the way to do it. The main reason why this method had been used is the fact that transforming the auditorum in participant in the play, the method also offerd our participants’ group the opportunity also to socialize with the locals. Thus, the locals will throw the dice and then the group will act presenting the play produced. Also, the will be letting the audience know that at a certain point they will stop the play and if someone has an alternative solution to the case they present and to the solution they brought, then they can step in their play and bring this solution. Thus, by using this method, the participants could also socialize with the local community, as when bringing the solution the locals could also bring the reasons why they think that this solution is much more better.
