Project's Methodology
Project’s methodology:
The whole project methodology is being built around the non-formal education principles and methods. Thus, defining non-formal education as the frame that offers the participants the opportunity to learn what they want, when they want and how they want is an essential dimension of Dice 2 prejudice. The project’s methodology is based on the Council of Europe publications in the field of human rights education – Compass, Compasito, Education Pack, Companion, and Dominion. Choosing to work on discrimination and intolerance the main approach we had been integrating as methodology is the human rights education. The main educational approach that will be used within the Dice 2 prejudice will be the human rights education – ‘aiming to establish a culture of human rights’ (Compasito) As human rights education is essential to democratic citizenship and to citizenship education, we do believe that by the activities we are proposing, the youngsters will get to reflect upon the situation of the groups who are normally discriminated During the activities, other educational perspectives will be integrated: participation, the experiential learning; the Co-operative learning and the facilitation. As for the event in the main square, we will be providing the participants with the methodology and with a short test session on forum theatre - based on the Theatre of the Oppressed, founded by Augusto Boal. The theatre of the oppressed is a form of theatre that encourages the audience to be an active participant in the drama and it stimulates because it stimulates people to think and act, rather than simply receive a message, become an automaton and do things because that's the way to do it. The main reason why this method had been used is the fact that transforming the auditorum in participant in the play, the method also offerd our participants’ group the opportunity also to socialize with the locals. Thus, the locals will throw the dice and then the group will act presenting the play produced. Also, the will be letting the audience know that at a certain point they will stop the play and if someone has an alternative solution to the case they present and to the solution they brought, then they can step in their play and bring this solution. Thus, by using this method, the participants could also socialize with the local community, as when bringing the solution the locals could also bring the reasons why they think that this solution is much more better.

Preparation phase
Preparation phase:
After the groups will be selected, we will start the preparations that will be synchronized within the partnership structure – deciding upon the intercultural evenings’ preparations – country presentations, music, even a specific format to introduce it – such as presenting a national dance and teaching the other groups this dance or preparing presentations on a specific topic; then the format of the presentations on discrimination in the national contexts and the groups discriminated; creating the project’s blog and facebook groups – administrated by different national groups; preparing information on media and discrimination in the participant countries, proposing movies on human rights, etc. All the preparation phase will be based on the participants’ contribution, as they will also have the decision on the final version of the programme – the group leaders will permanently present the participants’ proposals for the activities. Thus, within the partnership structure, we agreed on having the preparation phase completed at least 2 weeks before the project.
For this purpose:
1. The Romanian group will be documenting the situation of the Roma population in Romania
2. The Spanish group will be working on the situation of the migrants' situation in Spain
3. The Italian group will be documenting the migrants’ situation in Italy
4. The Turkish group will document the situation of the ethnic groups in Turkey
5. The Polish groups will be documenting the situation of the sexual minorities’ tolerance in Poland
6. The Greek group will be working on documenting the situation of the social excluded groups, due to poverty reasons.

Project's Rationale and Objectives
Racism and intolerance – Intolerance all over...
‘Racism and intolerance bring with them a sense of isolation, rejection and exclusion. Taking positive action against racism and intolerance can be difficult, dangerous and frightening, but most of all it is liberating and joyful. The more widely the action is shared, the greater sense of liberation and joy’. (All different, all equal – A sum of experiences) In 2007, the Eurobarometer – Discrimination in Europe was revealing striking information for most of the European population. Thus, the Europeans are basically discriminating on six basic grounds: age, racial and ethnic origins, religion and beliefs, psychical disability, learning difficulties and sexual orientation. More than this, what this report also relief is that the Europeans hardly know how to claim their rights, as less than 50% would complain verbally of being discriminated, 37% would write their complain and less than 20% would address the courts, with these issues (Discrimination in Europe).
In today's world, contemporary forms of racism and racial discrimination are complex and disturbing. In Europe, these issues increasingly lie at the heart of political and social concerns. Without making an exhaustive inventory of the situation and listing all the problems observed, we can outline a few broad categories in which racism and racial discrimination occur: day to day life in major areas, such as employment, education, housing and access to social services; human rights violations against members of Roma communities; hostile attitudes to and stigmatization of migrants, refugees and asylum-seekers; increasingly widespread anti-Semitic incidents: intensification of expressions of Islamophobia; use of racist, anti-Semitic and xenophobic arguments in political discourse; and a negative climate in public opinion, which plays a crucial part in the emergence of expressions of racism and intolerance in society. These trends, of course, vary in scale from one country to another, but are significant enough to be of concern. (United Nations Reports 2008, 2009, 2010)
To cope with this situation, European countries have devised responses at both national and European levels. The salient feature of the Council of Europe Member States' action over the past few years is the fact that they address the issues surrounding the fight against racism and racial discrimination from the perspective of protecting and promoting human rights. In other words, the right to be protected from racism and racial discrimination is first and foremost a fundamental right of all human beings. In the immediate future, European Governments are faced with several challenges, two of which are very significant: enforcing action against racism and racial discrimination in an environment increasingly affected by the fight against terrorism; and addressing the issue of integration, which is widely debated in most European countries, principle of non-discrimination and policies on the pursuit of equality are the necessary basis for achieving integration.
In the final analysis, encouraging signs at the national and European levels demonstrate that Governments and civil society are genuinely involved in fighting racism and racial discrimination in Europe. But the fight is far from won and advances are needed now more than ever to guide our countries and give practical effect and full meaning to the universal principle: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights". (Reports Council of Europe, 2010)
